You should make it a goal for yourself to treat this cable like your own child. + The disconnect near the USB is useful in helping to protect your cable. The new one has since lasted over 6 months. I have currently purchased two of these as my first one died approximately 2 months after purchase. This is my review for the Ubisoft Rocksmith Realtone Cable. Hope this helps as it helped me, what's 10 bucks when a new cable is 70! And if you're one of the unfortunate ones that this has already happened to, it's an easy fix if you can solder and are handy with an exacto blade and some heat shrink or electrical tape! Not a problem if you're standing and playing but of you're like 99% of us you'll sit and not even notice the pressure you're putting on the cable end.
After alot of research into why these cables fail at such a high rate, I found out that it's not the cable but how we use the cable.while sitting and playing, the pressure of the cord against your lap will damage the cable and it'll make the connection bad or outright fail all together. Would be 5 Stars if only not for this.(it should be a warning on the box) I think it was called "right angle 1/4 male to 1/4 female guitar cable" or something along those lines.You'll want to purchase one of these (in the pics I left) on Amazon as well, I got 2 for 10$ it'll save you in the long run.
